SATURDAY MAY 23 STXC presented by SUNDAY MAY 24 4X presented by A lot of time has passed since this course was built and it's gotten steadily better from year to year as the Cycle Cyndicate then Bigfoot Productions crews have tweaked and improved it. This is a UCI Classe 2 event (points outlined on this page). This event is open to all categories and is a part of the Mountain States Cup Championship Series. Season passholders for Gravity or Gated are automatically entered. SUNDAY MAY 24 XC presented by Dave Weins put it best when he said “I love that XC course at Angel Fire – you spend all that time climbing your way up, then you turn around and climb the whole way back down.” What Dave was referring to was the rugged nature of Angel Fire’s terrain. It’s a true mountain biker’s course that’ll call on every skill you have as a rider. The guys and girls with the best all around game are going to find themselves on the podium here. Check out the schedule above for the main waves and check in on-site for each races individual start waves. There’s a mandatory riders meeting in the start finish area before the start of each wave. The course consists of 60% technical single-track and 30% fire roads. The long loop is approximately. 9 miles and climbs to 10,500 ft each lap with about 2000’ feet of elevation gain. The short loop (the old World Cup loop) is 5.5 miles and climbs to 9600 ft each lap with 1200’ of elevation gain. You can check out a course profile at Trailcentral.com. (Be advised that the race info posted there is from the 2006 event though, OK?)http://www.trailcentral.com/gps/gps_routes.php?key=&detail=114&num_routes=3 SUNDAY MAY 24 SD presented by :
This is a Super-D course that's heavy on the D. Most of the Super-D uses the old Beta course that we've run in the past, but with a few of the super-techy sections removed. Your lift ($15/day, available at registration) ticket is also good for the rest of the day and the whole mountain is open, so feel free to get your runs in. You’re also eligible to purchase lift tickets at the discounted rate for the duration of the event.
SUNDAY MAY 24 KIDS RACEA fun, safe event for kids 9 and under. Every kid gets a prize and an award. The SKR will take place at 11 a.m. at the Cross-Country start. Everything you need to get your child registered will be waiting for you there. MONDAY MAY 25 DOWNHILL
This is a UCI Classe 2 DH for Pro Men and Women. Please see point scale. We will be running two courses, best suited for the Pro categories (course A) and CAT 1, 2, 3 (course B). Details will be posted at least two weeks prior. MEDIA Members of the media need to check in at registration for press credentials. Your credential grants you access to the media room and the chairlift. Please present a business card to our registration staff to get your credential. Wireless broadband access and fax service will be available in the event's media room. LIFT TICKETS $15/day and are required for each day of competition and practice. Yes, we know that some resorts don't charge for race day tickets, but there was no way around this issue this year. To place it in perspective though, all categories are getting twice as much scheduled practice time than at any other NMBS venue, PLUS the whole mountain is open for you to ride every day. PRACTICE PROTOCOL Riders with scheduled practice times will be given preferred access at the bottom of the chair. All other riders will be allowed on the chair, but will be asked to defer to whomever has access to either the Super-D or DH race course at that time. On Monday lift access will be restricted to riders with scheduled practice and competition times.
