Registration for 2012 MSC Season passes will be open April 1, 2012!

THE LATEST

ANY CHANGES TO CATEGORY OR TEAM MUST BE MADE AT REGISTRATION

Any changes to your category, team or anything else must be taken care of at registration. CJ Timing will not be responsible to make changes on the start line. When you or your representative sign your registration form, you are confirming that everything is correction and you will be racing in the category you listed for on the start list.

FULL FACE HELMET REQUIRED FOR DOWNHILL

While there have been lots of minor rule changes, there are some that are very important. The biggest one on the list is the new rule 1N2. This rule requires a full-face helmet for downhill. This is one of those rules that has no gray area, like the regular helmet rule. A rider lacking a full-face helmet does not start a downhill race. If a rider is allowed to start without a full-face helmet, it would be no different than a rider riding without a helmet. It is an instant disqualification.

MSC SERIES OVERALL POINTS

We've had some questions about how series overall points will be calculated so here's the gist of it:

Endurance: Series points will be tabulated from CAT 3 through Pro in Cross Country (XC, TT, STXC). There are 7 individual races (5 XC, 1 TT, 1 STXC) and 1 "stage race" results spread over five venues (MSC #1 is a stage races and count for four results each: cross country, time trial and short track and overall GC in stage race). Racers will earn points for their best 6 of 8 results.

Gravity: Series points will be tabulated from CAT 3 through PRO in Downhill.  Racers will earn points for their best 3 of 4 races.

Super D: Series points will be tabulated from junior through Pro/Open in Super-D. Racers will earn points for their best 3 of 4 races.

IN MEMORIUM: Mike Janelle, 1967-2007

If you've been racing cross country in the Rockies over the past decade, chances are pretty good that you've crossed paths with Mike Janelle. For the past several years he'd been a staple on the Tokyo Joes squad. Shortly after Thanksgiving in 2007, Mike was taken from his wife Maribel and then unborn son, Lil' Mike. The folks at Tokyo Joes have set up a website where you can make a donation to help Mike's family get through the next few years. In return, you'l get an education about a man who lived life like it was meant to be lived. He was a sportsmanlike competitor, a friend to those in need and a beacon of hope to those mired in petty workday issues or seemingly endless 80-hour weeks at a desk. For your small donation, you'll also get some great swag- stuff that serves as a reminder to work to live, not the other way around. Please visit www.LIVELIKEMIKE.org - even if only to remidn yourself of how precious each day really is.
