ALL riders that hold USAC licenses need to bring the license or authorization to ride with them in order to register.  Every race.  Every time.  If you forget, you can show us on a fancy phone.  No proof of license = no racy racy.  If you're a CAT 1 rider or Pro, you can't race on a one-day.

SALIDA- HOME OF MSC #1, RIVERSIDE RAMPAGE

The second annual Riverside Rampage mountain bike race is set for May 18-20 in Salida, Colo. Two days of racing with three different stages are planned for the weekend. Registration and packet pick-up will be at the Boathouse Cantina located at 228 north “F” Street in historic downtown Salida, Colo.

The weekend’s events include a two-mile hill climb time trial up Tenderfoot Mountain (a.k.a. “S” Mountain) Saturday morning. Afterward we’ll be racing a lengthened version of short track on Tenderfoot Mountain. Sunday will be the cross-country race on the Arkansas Valley Hill Trails on and behind Tenderfoot Mountain.

You may enter all the events or pick and choose the events that best suit your racing style. For riders who participate in all three events there will be an overall award for those riders including a fourth set of points towards their Mountain States Cup Series overall standings.

On another note, the singletrack involved in this race is very technical. It is highly recommended that you ride these trails before you race. The race schedule will be posted next week.

The “Locals” are pumped to have the MSC come to Salida. The trails organization group, Salida Mountain Trails (SMT) has put numerous hours into advocating for and building this trail network. The are proud to showcase them to the participants of the MSC. It is recommended that you run a little beefier tire here, as there are many sharp edge fixed rocks on these trails. In addition the XC course is very technical especially for the Pro and CAT 1. It is highly recommended that you pre-ride your course. These courses are demanding and you’ll be doing yourself a big favor by getting out and doing at least one lap before you race!

We may have to limit riders who can’t finish lap 1 of 2 in less the 1 hour 30 minutes! Several locals have done several timed laps and for the category 2’s and 3’s the lap is 8.4 miles and if you can’t do your first lap in 1:30 we may pull you and place you at the end of that particular race. Same will apply for the Pro and CAT 1. The lap length is 10.8 miles so anything on the first lap over 1 hour 30 minutes may mean we have to pull and place you in order to keep the race on track.

Saturday after the STXC we will be doing Awards down at Riverside which is just across from the Boat House Cantina on “F” street.
