REGISTRATION

The best way to register for Wildflower Rush is online here! Online registration deadline is Wednesday, June 22 at 11:59 p.m. There is no fee this year for registering online at Active.com. You can also download the Wildflower Rush Registration Form. On-site race entry fees and mail-in registration form entry fees are the same. Forms mailed in must be postmarked by Saturday, June 18 or received by email to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. ON-SITE REGISTRATION

If you aren't able to pre-register by Wednesday at 11:59 p.m., you can still register on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Race entry fees are here. Registration/check-in for your wave will close one hour prior to its designated start time. This includes pre-registered riders. 

* does not apply to all races. Must register by closing of registration on Saturday at 6 p.m. for all DH races. Packet pick-up for pre-registered riders may occur day-of, but must be at least 1 hour prior to start wave.

ALL riders that hold USAC licenses need to bring the license or authorization to ride with them in order to register.  Every race.  Every time.  If you forget, you can show us on a fancy phone.  No proof of license = no racy racy.  If you're a CAT 1 rider or Pro, you can't race on a one-day.

RACE ENTRY TRANSFER POLICY

If you happen to break your collar bone the week before the race, sprain a thumb, or if any other unforeseen circumstance suddenly arises, never fear, the MSC crew won't let you down! Incidents during the weekend (Friday - Sunday) of the event do not count for an entry transfer. This includes injuries from practice, vehicles breaking down, your ride leaving you, sickness, losing your dog, forgetting your shoes, or anything else.

Clif Bar

Clif Bar FAT TIRE 40

It's  on - the Clif Bar Fat Tire 40 returns with the same epic 40 + mile course on legendary Crested Butte singletrack. Other races claim it, but the Clif Bar Fat Tire 40 really does deliver the goods!

The Clif Bar Fat Tire 40 is a USA Cycling sanctioned event for Pros, CAT 1’s (except CAT 1 15-18), and the Wild-CAT Class. ANYONE can race it!

There will be a neutral start at CBMR starting with at 8 a.m. with the Pro Men, and 2-minute intervals for the rest of the categories. Roll out Treasury Emmons Road from CBMR base area and head north of Gothic Road. Neutral pace car to end of Gothic Road, turn right on Prospect Road- neutral over.

6/10ths of a mile up Prospect Road and turn left on Kokanee Road, 1/10th mile and right onto Meander singletrack. Meander to CBMR 5-way, up road to Horseshoe to Upper Westside. Down the Westside and onto the Upper Loop. Stay on Upper loop to the Upper Upper loop, down to Brush Creek Road (FS 738). HEad NE on Brush Creek Road for over a mile until the Strand Hill/Farris Road (FS 736). Up Strand Hill Road to the Strand HIll Singletrack #556. Have a damn good time! Take the Canal trail (SW) back to Brush Creek Road and Aid station #1 (at mile 19.5). Head north on Brush Creek Road to West Brush Creek Road (FS 582.1). Stay on road until the Deer Creek Trail. 10 miles of Deer Creek Trail. Finish Deer Creek at Gothic Road (FS 317) and Aid Station #2 (at mile 32).

Turn SE on Gothic Road for 3.5 miles back towards Mt. Crested Butte and CBMR. Turn left on Prospect Road (same as end of neutral rollout) after Gothic ends and take right onto Prospector trail, 1/10th from road intersection. Up Prospector Trail and down the Columbine Trail where you will navigate handlebar high lupine and decesend to the finish at the CBMR base area.

40 miles, 7,500 feet of climbing, a real mountain bike course with classic Crested Butte singletrack. Drink some Colorado Native, and get your Toots and the Maytals on!

CAMPING

Camping will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. $20 for the weekend per car, $40 for the weekend per RV. Please be respectful of zones designated for camping versus tech expo space.

FOOD FOR THE WEEKEND

$9.50     All you can eat breakfast buffet at WoodStone Grill in the Grand Lodge Hotel, next to the main parking lot.  Includes: eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, fruit, yogurt, breads, juice, coffee, ….7AM – 10:30AM

$7.50     Burger with potato chips or fruit OR Brat with potato chips or fruit, available on the 9380 deck in the Elevation Hotel, slope side by the lifts. Noon – 3PM

$8.95     Pasta dinner with salad and bread sticks available on the 9380 deck in the Elevation Hotel, slope side by the lifts, just prior to the reggae concert. 5PM – 7PM

AC Golden will be offering  complimentary “Colorado Native” beer coupons at registration for redemption at 9380 with lunch or dinner on June 25th.

Jefe’s, located in the Lodge at Mountaineer Square building, will be offering burritos, tacos, quesadilla, and other favorites for lunch as well.

CRESTED BUTTE BIKE WEEK FESTIVITIES

The planet's oldest mountain bike festival is taking place June 23-26 in Crested Butte! Expo, clinics, yoga classes, free concert Saturday night- Toots and the Maytals on Saturday June 25 at 6:30 p.m., chainless race, apre parties and more! CHAINLESS RACE FRIDAY NIGHT- PART OF FAT TIRE WEEK

The Chainless World Championships will start in Friday, June 22 at 4 p.m. from the top of Kebler Pass. The Chainless is open to anyone over 18 with any type of bike- no pedaling allowed. Registration* for this event starts Wednesday, June 20 at 7 p.m. at the Brick Oven in conjunction with special trivia night. Registration will also take place at the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame from 5:30 - 7 p.m. and on Friday, June 22 at the Brick Oven 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. $10 to enter, $15 for the shirt.

Kebler Pass will be closed this year due to safety concerns, so people will be shuttled in Mountain Expresses buses and trucks and trailers for the bikes. Shuttles being at 2 p.m. from 5th and Whitlock.

Helmets are required. The after-party is at 1st and Elk in the town parking lot. $2 pints of New Belgium beer (or free if you race and have your racer ID), Smokin' J's BBQ and Fete catering, KBUT blasting musics, and other activities including the awards ceremony. Anyone is welcome to come and hand out.

COLORADO NATIVE SATURDAY SOCIAL AT 9380

Colorado Native

Saturday night is the place to be with the Colorado Native Saturday Social at 9380. Every racer 21 and older will receive a coupon to redeem one free Colorado Native beer from the 9380 all day on Saturday! During that awards ceremoniesl, we will be giving out prizes via raffle ticket numbers. Come join us for the evening, fuel up for Sunday's race and win a prize!

9380 is also doing a spaghetti and salad dinner special for racers for $8.95 Saturday night from 5-7 p.m. Awards podium for all races will take place on the deck of 9380 all weekend long!

Take I-70 west, exit to highway 470 west, highway 285 south to Fairplay then Poncha Springs, highway 50 west to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

From Colorado Springs:
Take Highway 24 west to Johnson Village, then south to Poncha Springs. Take highway 50 west to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte. From Grand Junction and Montrose
Take highway 50 east to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

From New Mexico:
Take highway 285, take highway 160 west to Alamosa, highway 285 north to Saguache, highway 114 north to highway 50, highway 50 west to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

Clif Bar Fat Tire 40 Race Description

Neutral start at CBMR, (8:00 pro men and pro women, (Time Interval??) - Cat 1 men and Wildcat men, (Time interval??) Cat 1 women and Wildcat women). Roll out Treasury Emmons road from CBMR base area and head North on Gothic road.
