REGISTRATION

The best way to register for Winter Park Pursuit is online here ! Online registration deadline is Thursday, September 2 at 7 a.m. You can also download the Winter Park Registration Form . If you don't make in in during online pre-registration, you can still register on-site up to 1 hour before your start wave*. A $10 on-site fee does apply, so please be mindful of this statement when you go to register with the nice ladies on-site. On-site registration will take place in the West Portal Building (black building) located right next to the Children's Centre (blue building). If you have raced in the Winter Park series before, then you'll know exactly where to go!

* does not apply to all races. Must register by closing of registration on Saturday at 6 p.m. for all DH races. Packet pick-up for pre-registered riders may occur day-of, but must be at least 1 hour prior to start wave.

Cross Country- trails are signed so you can go pre-ride!

  • Start at the Sorensen Park sign at the base of Winter Park Resort
  • Climb Turnpike (mountain service road) to Four Points trail intersection
  • At Four Points take Green World to Upper Cherokee
  • Down Upper Cherokee to Lower Cherokee
  • Down Lower Cherokee to Ice HIll
  • Over Ice Hill* to Blue Sky
  • Up Blue Sky to Tunnel Hill
  • Across Tunnel Hills to Chickadee
  • Down Chickadee to Little Vasquez
  • Up Little Vasquez to Lower Arapahoe
  • Down Lower Arapahoe to Green World to Upper Cherokee
  • Down Upper Cherokee to Lower Cherokee
  • Down Lower Cherokee** to Serenity
  • Across Serenity to the Base Area Finish

    * Juniors racers eliminate Blue Sky and Chickadee section and climb up Little Vasquez
    ** Pros and CAT 1 racers turn left  and go to Ice Hill to start second lap. CAT 2 & 3 and Junior racers turn right.

    Approximately 14 miles for one lap and about 2300 feet of climbing

Intergalactic Pond Crossing Competition Sunday, September 5 at 4 p.m.

The Intergalactic Pond Crossing Competition levels the playing field for all mountain bike racers! This unique event features a floating course that crosses the Winter Park Village Pond. Athletes will race their bike across teh 8 inch wide wooden track vying for the fastest time. This "winner takes all" event will make the fastest ride $500 richer.

ENTRY FEE: $5 per crossing. Max 4 crossing tickets. The more times you try, the great chance ofwinning the grand prize!

GRAND PRIZE: $500 cash will be awarded to teh athlete with the fasest time OVERALL.

Category Awards will be given the fastest time for:

  • Junior Men- 18 & Under
  • Junior Women- 18 & Under
  • Men 19 & Up
  • Women 19 & Up

    Athletes need to sign waiver. Under 18 must have parent/guardian signature. 

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  • No rental bikes can be used for this event.
  • Event capped at 40 participants so sign up early at registration.
  • Number written in permanaent marker on hand is athlete "plate".
  • Bikes will have a floating together.
  • WP not responsible for damage to bikes.
  • Helmets required. Helmets provided starting at 3:30 day of event.
  • Athletes will be required to wear a life vest. Provided started at 3:30 day of event.
  • Costumes are encouraged.
  • Leader will sit in the Hot Seat located in the gazebo.

CAMPING

There will be no lot parking at Winter Park, however there is tons of camping on National Forest Service land in the area. For camping information visit the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce when you get to town or USFS website.

Doc's Roadhouse- Full service dining located in the village with great views of the ski slopes. Lucnch and dinner served daily. Full service grab&go breakdast on Saturday and Sunday.

The Lodge at Sunspot- open daily 11 a.m - 3 p.m. Ful service dining 2 miles high. A valid Zephyr Express chairlift ticket is required to access the Lodge. Come and try their signature Salmon BLT.

Snack Shack- located outside the West Portal Station. Open daily 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Featuring burgers, dogs and more served quickly. Outdoor seating available. 

HOW TO GET HERE / PARKING

Winter Park is located in the beautiful Fraser Valley. From I-70 take Exit 232 US-40W toward Empire/Granby. Follow for about 26 miles and you're in Winter Park.

Summer 2010 Parking Facts & Procedures
Parking is available for Resort summer guests in our Vintage Lot next to our main entrance off Highway 40 on Winter Park Drive. The Cabriolet provides lift service from the lot to the WP Village from 9am - 7:30pm daily except Fridays until 10pm starting June 12. Late operating hours may be provided for special events. Operating hours subject to change. Close in parking is available in our "free" Parking Garage.
